Guinea Coup Leaders Have Foiled ECOWAS Charter, Prez. Akuffo Addo says.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Treaty is a multilateral agreement signed by the member states that made up the Economic Community of West African States to regulate governance and democracy.

The Federal Government has frowned upon the coup d’etat that happened in the Republic of Guinea, saying it violates ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.

Army putschists in Guinea, on Sunday staged a coup and captured President Alpha Conde.

The President of the Republic of Ghana made a statement which read, “The government of Ghana is saddened by the coup d’etat that has taken place in the Republic of Guinea, in clear violation of the ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.
